About Bryan Dilberian:
While on a routine patrol an IED exploded. Instantly Bryan’s best
friend PFC Jimmy Waters was killed. In that moment Bryan was also
hit by shrapnel himself and critically wounded. His battle began.
On the field he was given first aid and within 4 days journeyed
to Kandahar, Germany, and home to the United States. Initially
Bryan lost an enormous amount of blood, but miraculously the fighter
in him held on. Bryan lost both legs below the knee and his left
arm below the elbow.

Bravest Fall To LAPD 19 - 7
The FDNY suffered a loss in league play, making back to back National Championships almost impossible. On the road and light due to injuries, the Bravest held on until the seven minute mark remaining in the game, before succumbing to the Centurions.
Halftime had the score tied at zero, with both defenses being very stingy. But, the LAPD started off the second half by marching the ball right down the field for a score. A missed PAT kept the score at 6-0. The Bravest opened up the fourth quarter by moving within striking distance, then a Ryan Davan to Brian Vomero 23 yard touchdown pass. George Oostmeijer added the extra point to make it a 7-6 FDNY lead.
Both teams had opportunities, but the LAPD capitalized on a bomb with about seven minutes to go in the game, making it 12-6 after a missed two point conversion attempt.
The Bravest got the ball back, then gave it back to the Centurions, then forced a fumble to make the game exciting again. But, it wasn't to be the Bravest' day. Another score by LAPD and the ensuing PAT made it 19-7 and sent the Bravest home with a bad feeling. It's a long plane ride home...
The FDNY will next take on the LAFD Heat on Saturday, May 19th at Port Richmond High School in Staten Island. Kickoff is set for 1:00. This game will be played for Wounded Warrior Bryan Dilberian. Half the proceeds from the gate will go to building Bryan a "Smart Home". You can buy tickets here on line or at the game. Please come out and support...
Bravest Win 10 - 0
First of all, thank you to everyone who bought a ticket for the game against the DC Generals. You helped us to raise much needed money for one of our own.
The Bravest started off 2012 like they finished 2011...WINNING!!! With 3:45 to go in the first quarter, Paul Neuman bulled one in from the 1 yard line to get the FDNY on the board. George Oostmeijer followed with the extra point. But, that drive couldn't have been possible without some nice passes from Ryan Davan to Anthony Abbatemarco and Brian Vomero.
Late in the first half, Antony Petito had a sack forcing a fumble which the Bravest recovered, setting up a 42 -yard field goal attempt for Oostmeijer. But, the kick was blocked, and the teams went into the locker room with the FDNY leading 10 - 0.
In the third quarter, the Bravest were able to get into Oostmeijer's range again, and this time the fans were not disappointed. George connected from 36 yards to give the FDNY a 10-0 lead, and that's how the game would end.
The FDNY next travel to Los Angeles to play their opponent from the 2011 Championship game, hopefully the results will be the same.

Our Supporters
The Bravest Football Club would like to thank all of our supporters. Though we may not win every game on the field, we are able to do a lot off the field. This is all due to our many generous supporters and fans. Whether it was a monetary donation, the purchasing of our apparrell, being at one of our fundraisers, or just being at one of our games to root the team on, it all helps.
Each year the team creates a book of advertisements, our "journal", and this is handed out to thousands of our fans at the Annual Fun City Bowl. We also allow our advertisers a chance at having their website link added to our site. Though none of our advertisers are better than the other, some pay more...please support all of our advertisers, we would be nowhere without them.

Bravest Unbeaten in Flag Tournament
Two out of two years the Bravest Football Club has made it to the Championship game of the Local 2000 Flag Football Tournament, and two years in a row they have faced the Camden City Fire Department, and two years in a row Camden has not been able to beat the FDNY.
The BFC finished up Saturday 2-0 beating Potomac Valley, and Baltimore City, giving the Bravest the # 4 Seed. FDNY faced Frederick County to open the day, then Potomac Valley once again, neither game was easy, but the Bravest came out on top in both. That set up a semi-final game against the US Army Ft Dettrick, who was the # 1 seed. The Bravest were able to keep them at bay winning the game to set up a re-match of the previous years championship.
Camden changed up quareterbacks from last year, going with a speed game, but the FD defense was able to hold them to only one score. Joe Metress and Ryan Davan switched places for the day, with Davan catching more than one toucdown and picking up a couple 4th down conversions. The Bravest defense was led by Matt Quinn, who had several picks and hardly missed a flag.
